Our focus is on staying true to fresh, sustainable and seasonal ingredients. All of our fish is responsibly-sourced & sustainably caught, and we work closely with local suppliers to receive the best of the local prawns, oysters and fish from the south coast, Australia & New Zealand.
The kitchen prepares delicious seafood plates cooked to order, designed to share. The menu is a combination of classic chip-shop fare and more worldly seafood flavours with our in-house Poke bar.
At the bar, our beverage menu is filled with the sort of wines you feel like drinking with a bucket of tiger prawns! Beers and ciders include a premium range of creations from the south coast & Australia. Not to forget Asahi & South Sailor Pale Ale available on tap. Oh and did we mention our Gin Bar!!
With a love for casual, fresh seafood, South Sailor offers lunch, dinner and everything in between. A fitting spot to settle back after a day on the sand and surf.
Our beachside address is still fondly remembered by locals as Jim’s Fish Café. With roots dating back to 1946, the location has a strong affinity with fresh, local seafood.
With indoor & outdoor seating, a licensed bar and kids beach cubby, gather the family for a relaxed weekend lunch or head in with friends for an evening of drinks, a shared feast and local tunes.
For the month of June, South Sailor is exclusively offering Private & Semi Private Dining experiences for up to 20 guests (max 10 per booking).

How many guests can I have?
Outside*, is reserved exclusively for 1 group of 8 – 10 guests.
Inside, is reserved for up to 2 groups of either 4, 6, 8 or 10 guests max.
The total venue capacity is 20 guests to comply with
NSW Government Covid 19 regulations of 4sqm per patron.
*our outside area is fully enclosed with heaters.
When can I book?
Reservations are available on:
Thursday: 7pm - close.
Friday: 5pm – 7pm // 7.30pm – close.
Saturday: 11.30am – 1.30pm // 2pm – 4pm // 5pm – 7pm // 7.30pm – close.
Sunday: 11.30am – 1.30pm // 2pm – 4pm // 6pm – 8pm.
How can I book?
All reservations can be made by clicking the ‘book now’ icon.
Due to limited staffing we are currently not taking telephone or email reservations.
How do I pay?
All reservations must be prepaid 72 hours prior to arrival. To pay online, head to the South Sailor Takeaway page on the website, select Private Dining & then enter your date & time. Guests can either pay individually or for the whole group.
